Get Inspired

I am still in major organization mode over here. But I have come out of the closet and am ready to take on the rest of the house. {Check out this Get Inspired post to get in on this joke and for all your closet organization needs.}

Honestly, I can barely contain my excitement to share the progress we have made on Finley's closet  since Fridays post. I got a little carried away with what was supposed to be a simple sort and rearrange project. But it was well worth it! Just you wait to see.

But until then, let us take a look at some clever organization ideas for all around the house to get our productivity motors running.

Simple yet efficient. I am loving this mounted jar cap storage solution! And it is most definitely a wash, rinse, repeat type of option because it would work in any room of the house. Im thinking the garage for nuts and bolts, kitchen for spices, office for daily wee necessities, kids room for craft supplies or lego, and the bathroom for cosmetic supplies. Of course the size of the jar would vary but the concept would remain the same.

Cereal box drawer dividers here we come! These DIY dividers are an inexpensive way to bring order to those hard-to-tidy spaces. And because they are personally made, you have the option to chose your preference of colours and patterns exactly to your taste. Whether it is bright and cheerful like these by Jen from iheartorganizing or something completely different, I can guarantee it will brighten your day whenever you see it. And give your house guest a wonderful surprise if they are rooting around. *Wink.

Who immensely dislikes wrinkled wrapping paper? This gal most certainly does! And this basic yet oh-so-clever-I-can't-believe-I-didnt-think-of-it idea is the perfect solution. Im thinking it would be perfect in a craft room, office, or supplies closet with a tall galvanized bucket beside it for housing extras. That way you could rotate with the seasons.

Get a load of this! I may have just fainted with delight after seeing this dresser turned mini office.

I have found office supplies difficult to organize and, here is the kicker, still keep attractive.  But this solution is beyond anything I could dream up. Everything is readily available yet easily tucked out of sight when not in use. With this trick up your sleeve any space in your home could become the 'office'.

Hello garage of my dreams! Where have you been all my life?

Simple appeals to me. *No personal digs please. What I mean is that simple organization always seems to be the most functional. And if you can make it pretty, all the better. Which is why this hook system has my name all over it. What about you? Can you think of a place you could apply this in your home? Bathroom? Bedroom? Entryway? Or what about the cottage? Oh yeah!

Another why didn't I think of that moment. But thankfully Susan over at Homeroad did and that is all that matters. I love scarves and accessories but often omit them from my outfits because I don't while I am getting ready -  they are currently stashed in a drawer. This idea of hanging them on loops would be the ideal solution. And it could be translated over for other accessories as well: hats, belts, necklaces, even tack tops or swim suits. La.Tee.Da.

I just had to share this room with you today. I stumbled across Shaunna's blog, Perfectly Imperfect, last night and I am in love. The head over heals kind. Her home and projects are killer. But this kids space takes the cake. It is pretty in a highly functional way. And that DIY kids picnic table with built in lover shelving is the newest addition on my to-do list.

And there you have it. I have been all over the map with organizing inspirations today. Who knows what my next plan of attack will be. But what about you? What are you working on? Any organization underway? Do tell!

Chat soon.

    1. I wish that were the case! But honestly my garage is an epic disaster at this moment. Ill be working on my own garage soon enough so do check back. Maybe it will look this good some day.

And if you put any of these ideas to work in your own home do share!

      Thanks for stopping by! :)

  2. I absolutely love reading your blog and checking out all your creative ideas, unfortunately I have come to the conclusion it is an art all in itself to think and do organization, one which I don't have!! My idea of organizing is a garbage bag and a pile of clutter becoming a smaller pile of clutter;-)
still its nice to see all your ideas and pray the bug somehow catches me!
    Always enjoyed,
    Rhonda:-)

    1. I've been mulling over your comment Rhonda and I have to agree with you. Over the years I have come to realize that organizing is in fact and art.

But if it is not a skill you yourself possess all hope is not lost. Go ahead and ask for input from those around you who own the skill and see if they can't give you any pointers {one being me}. Perhaps once you have help finding what works for you maintaining it wont be as difficult. Just a thought.

If you ever need to run ideas by someone feel free to shoot me an email. Id love to help any way I can!

  3. Great inspiration! I love the wrapping paper idea. And you know what else I like about it -- that there are only 5 rolls! I have two bins full of wrapping paper and it will take me forever to use it all. I don't need that much! Maybe if I had a system like this, it would force me to not buy any more paper until I use up a roll.

    1. You can go ahead and send some of that wrapping paper my way! I never seem to have an appropriate style for upcoming events and scramble at the last minute. Which is sad because wrapping paper is such a lovely touch to any gift.

I hope this idea helps you out! Let me know if you implement it and how it works!
